Joint account A joint securities account is an account with active joint responsibility. Deposits and advances of sums or securities posted to it will engender the same obligations for each of the subscribers, even if it is a single deposit made by just one of the subscribers. All operations, including deposits and withdrawals, can be made at the instructions of any one of the subscribers, who will be bound jointly and severally. In the event of the death of one of the subscribers, the account will continue to function under the signature of the surviving account holders who will be required to answer to the heirs of the deceased holder. Company account or Investment Club So long as securities operations are provided for in the company’s corporate purpose, it is possible to open a securities account for a company as well as an “investment club.” |
